Ball Baker Leake's long and unique history began in Britain in the 18th century. More than 40 years ago, Michael Levine, CPA started the New York branch when a major theatrical producer brought his London hit to Broadway and needed a New York firm to assist him. Ball Baker Leake has continued specializing in theatrical accounting and servicing performers but has grown beyond these initial services.
The Members of the firm and many of our staff are members of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA). Our firm has also been successful in passing "Peer Review" which requires that we maintain a current library and satisfy the organizations' and the NYS Education Department's requirements for continuing education of a minimum of 24 hours to 40 hours per year per professional.

Personal Management Services are a specialty of our firm and our managing partner, Nick Tarrant, CPA, ACA. Our task in this department is to become, in effect, the in-house accountant to individuals, families and trusts of high-net worth. The integrated information generated from our records and those of our clients is utilized to prepare tax projections, income, gift, estate, trust and tax-exempt organization tax returns, personal financial statements, investment analysis, cash flow and asset growth projections.
Nick Tarrant also specializes in international taxation. His being a Chartered Accountant (ACA) and also a British citizen has given him the knowledge and experience to advise our American clients on business expansion or working abroad; foreigners are advised on American taxation and assisted with the taxation of living here and conducting business in New York.
Janice Page, CPA, MBA, Certified Quickbooks consultant, leads our firm in designing, installing and training staff in Quickbooks accounting systems. She has assisted many types of companies in this task in order to customize reporting for more efficient management of their finances.
Divorce planning is also a speciality of Janice Page. She has assisted clients and their attorneys in developing a settlement plan, and has assisted in their litigation as an expert witness.
